Last Monday our students and teachers had a fantastic time watching the play «Hotel Canterville» at Martínez Montañés theatre. It was performed by amazing actors and actresses from the well known company Face to Face. Their philosophy is based on the conviction that interaction and play are the most useful tools in language learning.
Summary: «Strange things happen at the Canterville Hotel. Marge, the owner, insists that her hotel is inhabited by a ghost. Basil, the owner’s son, is a bit eccentric, thinks he’s Elvis Presley and loves rock and roll. To make matters worse for the guests, a couple of small-time gangsters on the run from the law arrive at the hotel. The encounter between the gangsters and Elvis sows even more chaos in the hotel. Between scares and laughter, the audience participates in a comic adventure, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s classic ghost story, The Canterville Ghost, in which, among other things, vocabulary and phrases related to hotels and restaurants are studied.»
